I have photographed close to one hundred babies over the course of my photography career. Through it all, I've learned that newborn photography is a beautiful thing that takes a lot of care, creativity, and patience. One session may last three to four hours, but with good reason. Babies need to eat often and don't often fall asleep right away. Much of the session is spent feeding baby, soothing baby to sleep, and changing out blankets and props that get peed on (or worse) hahaha. It happens! ...and it's expected to happen!
I love the time I get to spend with these babies and their parents. I love hearing the birth stories, as well as the funny and difficult moments parents share about their baby's first few days of life. I also love the cuddles I get to sneak in once in a while. It's such a special time and I'm so happy to have shared this time with so many parents.
With that said, here are some of my May newborns... I love them to bits.
